Call him a bit of a little imp, Nick didn't care.
After all, technically the Autobot warehouse was public property right? Before they had made it their HQ they had been tresspassing. Technically. So, in a way, Nick wasn;'t doing anything wrong lurking nearby and hoping to get a peak at any of them. OK. OK. SO he was justifying doing something wrong very poorly, Nick didn't care - the inner fanboy in him just wanted a peak after all! And it wasn't his fault that he found a good enough entrance to squeeze into undetected.
Of course, so far, it didn't look like anyone was actually around to catch him and call him out to begin with! So as far as he was concerned he was fine. "I can't believe I'm actually doing this," He gave a short, mischievious giggle. "I wonder if they'd notice if I took like a souvenir or something? Probably. C'mon Nick don't be weird about this!'

Operay had been quiet, very very very quiet for a few solar cycles. It was part of her laying low. She had been hidden away for so long she had almost forgotten what it was like to stretch her servos. But she was patient. Patient enough until last night. Shed been doing her research on the humans and had finally found someone who she felt could lead her right into the Autobot HQ. It would seem that they'd gained quite a bit of notoriety in this city, and that they'd managed to collect a fair amount of fans. Shed narrowed her search down to this kid, Nick and had managed to sneak into his home. Shed dispatched of his original cellphone and taken its place, downloading all the data from his previous device in order to not arouse suspicion.
And thankfully it looked like her patience had paid off. She was close now, close to sneaking into the Autobot base and all of the secrets it might hold within.

Nick on the other hand was definitely not aware his phone had been compromised.
That was probably because he had jailbroken his a long time ago, the little genius he was. So it being tricked out was nothing new. But on the other hand he did feel that suspicious vibe one got when he felt like he was being watched. Maybe one of the Autobots was around and he didn’t know it? He wasn’t sure.
But if he had thought about it - it was pretty damn easy to do what the Con had done when he literally lived on the streets in a warehouse of his own.
Still, he was young and not thinking of these things as he sat his “cell phone” down a moment to take a peek. “Man, it doesn’t even look like anyone’s home or doing anything,” He moaned. “Leave it to me to pick the boring day! Seriously I got to make friends with one of them and nothing still happens in this town!”

He'd set the phone down. Perfect. She quickly activated the vibrating motors in her phone mode to quietly move across the surface he'd put her on and soon she was falling towards the ground. Before she could clatter to the ground she transformed for the first time in what felt like ages. She could feel the metal of her joints creak and whine as she slowly stood to her full height. It would be about now that she looked down at Nick and hid her arm behind her back to hide her Decepticon branding. "Now now. We cant have any little human running around here. Us Autobots take human safety very seriously." She smiled, her sharp teeth flashing. "But I'll head in and tell them they've got a big fan out here."

Nick immediately knew something was up.
Maybe he didn’t know exactly what was wrong, in fact he definitely didn’t. But the “Autobot” that greeted him seemed to have some weird body language. Nick had spent his time bouncing from home-to-home after all, so to say he was good at getting a read on people was an understatement.
That said, he didn’t quite get the idea of her being a Decepticon into his head.
After all, Decepticons hadn’t been seen in years, and while he heard rumors he wasn’t sure he believed them yet. All the same, he approached her curiously with a raised eyebrow and the curiosity of someone as young as he was. “You’re an Autobot?” he asked. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard of one with your build. And believe me, I know about a lot of them.”

She smiled at him as warmly as someone like her could as she put a servo to his back gently. "Im one of the behind the scenes bots. Ive also got a scary face so they like to keep me hidden." She lied as she pushed the boy away from the building.
It likely would have been easier to just dispatch with the kid, but Operay had a particular idea about how the humans were meant to be treated. It wouldn't serve her master plan to squish every human she met, despite how much fun that might be. She needed to handle this with a gentler hand in order to try and keep herself hidden. She had quickly gathered if a random human just entered the base it would be common sense to do a sweep for spying devices, and she was if anything a spying device.
In order for her plan to work she had to convince the kid to leave somehow. "They call me Operator, its good to meet you."

Hmmm that was interesting.
On one hand, Nick still didn’t quite believe her. Being a street kid he was intuitive and good at getting a read on people. But on the other, if she was in fact an Autobot questioning her too much would obviously cause him some serious issues. He wanted to make friends with them not make them think he was an issue.
Still, he had to be sure, because if not he was obviously about to let a Decepticon into the base. And that was not something he was about to do. “Oh cool, behind the scenes. That makes perfect sense,” he replied keeping his cool. “I bet you can get past the alarms then. I’m kind of worried to move because I’m pretty sure I know how to. But they’re pretty much everywhere in this place.”
He’d give her his name when he trusted her.
