SENTINEL PRIME
Nicknames: None that he actually likes
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Faction: Autobots
Occupation:
Residence: Cybertron
GENERAL INFO
Weapons: Battle lance, Skyboom shield, cyber-sol decontaminant spray (it does nothing but Sentinel considers it a weapon)
Holoform: None
Personality: Sentinel Prime, the bot who's ego can only be dwarfed by his very own chin. Sentinel Prime is an extremely arrogant and judgmental mech, often described as a blowhard, but he wasn't always that way. Sure he was a smug guy back in the academy, but what happened to Elita-1 changed him for the worst. Ever since that incident he became a stickler for the rules and frequently telling everyone else what to do. After all, if he couldn't protect Elita that day, he sure as heck isn't going to let anyone else make the same mistakes that he, or rather.. Optimus, made that day. Sentinel deeply blames Optimus for what happened to Elita, but also his phobia of all organics period. Sentinel often likes to cause fearmongering when it comes to the organics, filling the audials of many a mech and femme of how disgusting and horrifying organics are and the sad thing is many believe him for it. Sentinel even insists any bot that interacts with an organic needs to be decontaminated immediately. That's what his cyber-sol spray is for, after all. Begone, organics!
It's easy to say that Sentinel doesn't give a scrap about bots, but he does care.. just not in the best of ways. Not only is he trying to protect everyone from the threat of the organics and the Decepticons, but the very moment a Decepticon spy was discovered on Cybertron that tried to terminate Ultra Magnus he made every possible effort to cut off their access to places around Cybertron. The problem was he treated every single bot like a Decepticon spy, encouraging bots to report literally any suspicious behavior and setting a curfew in place. It's one of the reasons he would make a horrible Magnus, but he doesn't let that stop him. He was dead set on replacing Ultra Magnus and had voiced it a few times in private (or so he thought) to bots like Cliffjumper, but when Ultra Magnus recovered he was actually.. kinda disappointed, yet relieved when they guy said he was going to step down. Sentinel Prime will do just about anything to get what he wants, but he most certainly would not sabotage another Autobot.
Well.. maybe everyone except for Optimus.
Many bots remember Sentinel from his Minor days as a drill instructor and dread encountering him again, but lucky for them Sentinel doesn't always have the greatest of memory. He certainly doesn't remember Bumblebee and Bulkhead, so unless you did something of great importance during your training with him don't expect him to remember ever meeting you.
Likes: Himself, Elita-1, the Elite Guard, being in charge, when his orders are followed, making others work harder than they actually need to
Dislikes: Optimus Prime, Blackarachnia, organics of any kind, Earth, Decepticons, when his ego is bruised, when his orders aren't followed, traitors, driving in Earth's weather, when people make fun of his chin, the unknown
PERSONAL INFO
Family: None
Mate: None, but there may have been a time he once liked Elita-1
History: Sentinel was created around the same time as Optimus and Elita-1. The three of them went to the academy together where they trained under Kup and quickly became the best of friends. Of course, Sentinel was the one who ultimately ruined that friendship with a 'mission' to Aracha Seven, an offworld organic planet they weren't actually allowed to go to. He'd heard that there was an abandoned Decepticon warship filled with 'energon-y goodness' and wanted in on it, but he wasn't prepared for the massive organic spiders. The three did their best to fend them off, but Elita was lost in the scuffle. Optimus fled with Sentinel who demanded they go back to rescue her, but Optimus refused as he couldn't get a read on her signal. Naturally Sentinel was enraged, and when they returned to Cybertron he pinned the whole blame on Optimus to get away scott-free. With Optimus banished to work on space bridge repairs with his new team, Sentinel focused solely on his career to get into the Elite Guard.
Over time he obtained the rank of Minor and became a drill instructor just like Kup had been for him. He met many recruits over the years, giving them all their names but most of them he no longer remembers. Of these recruits Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Wasp, Longarm and Ironhide had just been a few of the many cogs in the machine he'd worked to the bone.. especially after Bumblebee kept messing things up. Sentinel had an ideal that if one cog didn't work then the whole machine didn't, so he would spread any punishments he gave to Bumblebee to the entire group of recruits often times angering them. During Bee's time in Autoboot Camp rumors about a Decepticon spy in the ranks of the new recruits, and Sentinel was more than happy to seize the glory when Wasp was declared the traitor not even realizing that Wasp really was innocent. Just another scumbag for the Stockade~.
Of course he completely forgot Bumblebee and Bulkhead, so naturally he was the one to capture the spy in his processor.
Time passed and Sentinel obtained the rank of Prime, serving as one of the heads of the Elite Guard directly under Ultra Magnus himself. What he hadn't anticipated was an urgent call one day he received from Optimus Prime requesting help after being chased by Decepticons. At first he blew it off as Optimus being a complete screw up, but was humbled when Optimus displayed the visual of the long lost AllSpark. He patched the call through to Ultra Magnus, but then his former friend's ship and team was lost. Despite his grievances with Optimus, Sentinel was the one to give the eulogy for the mech and was pressed for 50 stellar cycles by Longarm Prime to keep searching for the missing bots and the AllSpark. Never stopped to question why, but he didn't see any need to do so.
Eventually word got back to Cybertron that Team Prime had survived. Sentinel went to Earth along with Ultra Magnus and Jazz in order to retrieve the AllSpark only to be angered to learn that it had been destroyed during the battle with supposedly Megatron. Sentinel didn't believe their story for a second, suggesting that they be locked up for their crimes only for Team Prime to eventually prove that the AllSpark hadn't entirely been destroyed but simply shattered. Ultra Magnus requested that the fragments be recovered, and during their brief stay on Earth Sentinel fell victim to the human villain known simply as the Headmaster. Optimus laughed at Sentinel's misfortune of being beheaded but the two worked together begrudgingly in order to recover the rest of his body. Just before Sentinel and the rest of the Elite Guard left Earth they managed to capture Starscream. As they left the planet, Sentinel insisted that they study Starscream and had a copy of his Decepticon code extracted so they could make flying Autobots. This code was later grafted onto two bots who had almost been offlined in an accident: Jetfire and Jetstorm. Thus.. the first flying Autobots were made, but of course Starscream had managed to escape shortly before they could make it back to Cybertron.
It would be some time before Sentinel was forced to return to Earth when Wasp managed to escape from his imprisonment in the Stockade. Sentinel was tasked to track him down, bringing Jazz, Jetstorm and Jetfire with him when Wasp had made it to Earth. Despite Optimus' words stating Wasp was not the spy and it had in fact been Longarm the whole time, Sentinel refused to believe him and hyperfocused on capturing Wasp. His efforts eventually lead him to Dinobot Island where Wasp had been transformed into Waspinator by Blackarachnia. He didn't recognize the femme at first, but as she yelled at him and reminded him of the events of that day Sentinel was horrified to learn what had really happened to Elita.. that she had been turned into some organic freak. Sentinel felt it would have been better if Elita had offlined that day, trying to kill her only to be quickly defeated himself. However, Waspinator grew unstable and as he tried to terminate Blackarachnia he built up a transwarp so powerful that he imploded, but not before Blackarachnia sacrificed herself to save Sentinel and Optimus both. Thinking Elita was dead for real this time, Sentinel walked away for once without a word.
He had more important things on his processor anyway. He needed to return to Cybertron because Shockwave, the actual spy, had attacked and nearly killed Ultra Magnus. Taking the Elite Guard back with a captured Blitzwing, Lugnut, stasis locked Swindle and two Starscream clones the crew was caught offguard when an electrical storm woke Swindle. The Decepticons managed to escape their cells, and Sentinel sent an SOS to Optimus using a coded message and a private code from their academy days. Somehow Optimus managed to find a way onto the ship via Swindle's subspace and after working behind Sentinel's back with Jazz, Optimus managed to recapture the Decepticons with exception of Lugnut who had managed to get away. As much as Sentinel hated it he knew that Optimus had bested him and he was going to make sure it never happened again. Returning Optimus to Earth, Sentinel and the Elite Guard returned to Cybertron with the captured Decepticons, parading them through the streets of Iacon as he announced himself to be the reigning Magnus until Ultra Magnus recovered.
He instilled curfews and propaganda to try and weed out Shockwave, but also grew paranoid that there could be additional Decepticon spies on Cybertron as well. He locked down just about everything, and eventually Shockwave was spotted when Ratchet and Captain Fanzone arrived on Cybertron through an ill-timed space bridge. Shockwave managed to escape with the incapacitated Arcee, and Sentinel had Ratchet and Fanzone sent home.. and ordered a mass decontamination of the streets of Iacon for good measure. The next thing he knew Optimus Prime and his team had arrived with a captured Megatron, Shockwave and Lugnut, as well as an offlined Prowl. Sentinel was angry about the whole thing, feeling that Optimus was taking all the glory that should have rightfully been his. Over time Ultra Magnus recovered thanks to the aid of First Aid, and Sentinel made it a point to recruit the young medic into his new team of Protectobots that he was building.. though he hadn't come up with any other candidates for the team.
But then came the news.. Ultra Magnus was stepping down! It was finally his time to lead, but of course the mech had wanted it to come down to a vote between him and Optimus. Sentinel has every intention of winning that vote no matter what he has to do. Besides, if Optimus is busy chasing down the recently escaped Megatron on Earth he'd be too busy to be Magnus, right? Sentinel's already got it in his head that he's the one who won, and he's not going to back down for anything. In fact, he's already got a custom Magnus helmet in the works, but he's also commissioned a new Powermaster armor just for the occasion. Surely he'll be able to show it all off one day, right?
